(I) Overview of Vietnam visa types

Features of e-visas
- Easy to apply: all online, no need to go to the embassy in person
- Processing time: usually takes 3-7 working days, emergency services are received within 1 working day at the earliest
- Visa validity: up to 90 days, single/multiple entries
- Visa purpose: business/tourism purposes are allowed
- Entry convenience: no additional procedures are required after arriving in Vietnam
Features of visas on arrival
- Fast processing speed: can be approved in as fast as 1 hour
- Applicable situations: emergency travel, time is tight
- Entry procedures: additional procedures are required at the Vietnamese airport
- Visa validity: up to 15-30 days, single/multiple entries
- Visa purpose: only tourism purposes are allowed
- High flexibility: suitable for travelers with frequent changes in itineraries or those who want to apply for a visa in an emergency
(II) Basic requirements for emergency visa applications
No matter which visa type you choose, you need to meet the following basic requirements:
- Passport validity: visa on arrival : at least 3 months; e-visa: at least 6 months
- ID photo: a recent ID photo that meets the Vietnam visa photo requirements (such as size, background, etc.)
- Visa application form: fill in all necessary information and ensure that the information is accurate
- Visa fee: pay the corresponding fee according to the selected visa type and urgency
(III) Online application process for emergency visa
Apply directly online (optional: e-visa or visa on arrival): https://www.yuenanyuenan.com/apply/
- E-visa: apply at least one day in advance
- Visa on arrival: can be applied for on the same day, received within 2 working hours at the fastest
Provide necessary information (or upload your passport information page), passport information (passport number, validity period, etc.), personal basic information (name, date of birth, etc.), expected entry date and length of stay, etc.
Choose the level of emergency service: Choose the appropriate level of emergency service based on your time needs
Pay fees: Pay the visa application fee and the emergency processing fee, usually in full in advance
Please wait for approval letter: We will process your application within the promised time; after approval, you will receive an electronic version of the approval letter
Prepare entry documents：
- Visa on arrival: Print the approval letter; prepare two passport-sized photos; prepare enough cash to pay the visa on arrival fee (usually US$25)
- E-visa: Print the electronic visa
Arrival in Vietnam:
- Visa on arrival: Look for the “Visa on Arrival” counter at the airport, submit the approval letter, photos and passport, pay the visa fee and wait for the visa sticker. After receiving the visa sticker, go to the immigration counter to complete the entry procedures
- E-visa: Enter Vietnam with an electronic visa
Note: For Chinese mainland citizens who apply for an electronic visa, prepare two photos when arriving in Vietnam, go to the landing office to exchange them for a paper visa (no further fees are required) and then use them to enter Vietnam.
